The Heart of the Pumpkin
Once upon a time, in a cozy little garden, there was a big, round pumpkin named Percy. Percy was bright orange and had a soft, shiny skin. He loved to watch the butterflies and listen to the birds sing every day. But Percy had a secret—a little spider named Sally lived inside him!
Sally was a tiny, friendly spider. She spun lovely webs that sparkled in the morning sun. Percy and Sally were the best of friends. They would tell each other stories and laugh together while the gentle breeze swayed Percy’s vine. One sunny afternoon, while they were chatting, a playful dog named Benny came bounding into the garden.
Benny wagged his tail and barked happily. "Hey, Percy! Hey, Sally! I heard you're looking for a shiny treasure! Let’s find it together!" With a big, excited jump, Benny suggested they go on an adventure. Percy and Sally cheered and felt giddy with joy. They didn't know where to start, but they were ready for a big adventure! Benny twirled around, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "I think we should go to the enchanted forest! I bet the treasure is hiding there!"
Their hearts raced with excitement, and the three friends hurried towards the enchanted forest. As they walked, they heard a soft humming sound that made them even more curious. "What could that be?" asked Sally, her tiny eyes sparkling. "It sounds like it's coming from the big, twisty tree over there!" Benny barked, pointing with his paw. They decided to follow the humming, hoping it would lead them to the shiny treasure.
The closer they got to the tree, the louder the humming became, and it felt like music dancing in their ears! Percy, Benny, and Sally gathered around the tree, peeking at its thick branches. Suddenly, a little fairy named Bella appeared, sparkling like a rainbow. "Hello, friends! Are you here for the treasure?" she asked with a cheerful smile. Percy nodded, feeling a little nervous but excited. Bella giggled, "Well, you must solve my riddle first!"
The friends huddled together, their hearts beating fast. Bella fluttered her tiny wings and said, "Here’s the riddle: I can fly without wings, I can cry without eyes. Whenever I go, darkness flies. What am I?" Percy, Benny, and Sally looked at each other, thinking hard. Sally tapped her tiny legs and whispered, “I think it’s a cloud!” Benny barked happily, “Yes! Clouds can float, and they bring rain!” Percy smiled wide and said, “Let’s tell Bella!”
They turned to Bella and shouted in unison, “It’s a cloud!” Bella clapped her hands, sparkling with joy. “You are correct! Now, for your prize!” With a graceful wave of her wand, she made the ground shimmer. A beautiful chest appeared, filled with shiny, colorful gems and lots of delicious candy! Percy, Benny, and Sally couldn’t believe their eyes!
