Once upon a time, there was a cozy little house where three friends named Addi, Caleb, and Jessie lived. They loved spending sunny afternoons playing in their colorful garden bursting with flowers and laughter.
One day, while playing hide and seek, Addi stumbled upon a giant cookie lying right in the middle of the garden! It was as big as a car wheel, with chocolate chips that sparkled like tiny stars. "Caleb, Jessie, come quick!" Addi shouted, amazed at her delicious discovery.
Caleb and Jessie raced over, their eyes wide with wonder. "This cookie is too big to eat all at once," said Caleb. "Let's be smart and save some for later!" They all agreed, cutting the cookie into equal parts, but Jessie's tummy rumbled, and she sneaked an extra piece when she thought no one was looking.
As the sun began to set, a sweet scent floated through the air. "Follow that smell!" cried Jessie, suddenly energized. The friends skipped down the road and found an ice-cream stand, bright and inviting. But there was a problem: they had no money to buy the icy treats they craved.
"I have an idea," Addi said, her eyes sparkling. "If we help the ice-cream seller tidy up his stand and serve customers, maybe he will give us ice-cream in return!" Without being lazy, they all jumped in to help, organizing cones, scooping ice-cream, and earning their creamy rewards with smiles and laughter.
With their hard-earned treats in hand, the friends walked back home, enjoying the cool sweetness under the stars. When they reached the house, Jessie confessed about the extra cookie piece. "I’m sorry. I was greedy and didn't think of saving like you both did," she said, looking down at her favorite t-shirt now dusted with cookie crumbs.
Addi and Caleb hugged Jessie. "It's okay," they said. "We all learned something today!" And from that day on, Jessie remembered to share and save, never being lazy when it came to playing fair and helping out. As the moon rose high, the friends drifted off to sleep, dreaming of cookie adventures and ice-cream joys, knowing tomorrow would be another day of fun, fairness, and friendship.
