Once upon a time, in a colorful little town, there was a cheerful boy named Caleb. Caleb had a fluffy brown dog, and his name was Addi. They were best friends and loved playing in the sunny garden behind their house.
One sunny morning, Caleb noticed something strange. There was a beautiful flower, with petals that sparkled like jewels. Caleb loved the flower so much that he wanted to dig it up and keep it. But every time he tried, Addi would gently tug at Caleb's trousers with his teeth, pulling him away from the flower.
Caleb was confused. Why wouldn't Addi let him dig up the pretty flower? Frowning, Caleb followed Addi to the other side of the garden. There, Addi started digging a hole. Caleb helped him, and together they found a small box! Inside the box, there were seeds for a whole garden of sparkling flowers!
Caleb understood now. Addi didn't want him to dig up the single flower because he knew about the seeds, which would grow into many more flowers! Addi wiggled his tail excitedly, happy that Caleb had learned the lesson. Caleb hugged Addi, and they started planting the seeds together.
Months passed, and the garden turned into a sea of sparkling flowers. Caleb was so happy that he had listened to Addi. He learned it was better to be patient and work hard than to be lazy and want everything at once.
Every night, as Caleb wore his favorite star-patterned trousers, his mom, Jessie, would tuck him into bed. She would smile at the sea of flowers outside and say, "Good things come to those who work for them." And Caleb, with Addi curled up at his feet, would dream of all the beautiful things they could grow together.
