The Curious Splash
Once upon a time, in a bright blue ocean, there lived a happy octopus named Ollie. Ollie had eight wiggly arms and loved to play hide and seek among the colorful coral. One sunny day, Ollie spotted a shiny boat floating above him. Curiosity bubbled in his heart, and he wondered who was on that boat.
On the boat was a cheerful whale named Wally, who was splashing water into the air and singing a silly song. Wally loved to make friends and wanted to invite someone to play. Ollie swam up close, peeking above the waves to see the big, friendly whale. "Hello!" Ollie called out, waving one of his arms.
Wally's eyes sparkled with joy. "Hi, Ollie!" he sang. "Let's have a singing contest!" Ollie wiggled with excitement and said, "Great idea! Let's find out who has the best voice!" They decided to sit on the edge of the boat, where Wally could splash melodies, and Ollie could make ocean sounds. Wally started humming a tune that sounded like the waves dancing. Ollie joined in with bubbly sounds that made everyone giggle. Soon, the ocean was filled with music, and even the fish danced along!
As they sang, a curious seagull flew by and landed on the boat. "What a fun song! Can I join your contest?" the seagull chirped. Ollie and Wally looked at each other and smiled. "Of course!" they cheered. They all took turns singing their best songs, but just as they were about to decide who was the winner, the sky turned a little dark, and a big shadow floated above them. What could that be?
Ollie, Wally, and the seagull looked up at the shadow, their hearts beating with excitement. "What could it be?" Ollie wondered aloud, his eyes wide. Wally flapped his fins and sang, "Let’s go find out! It could be something fun!" The seagull flapped her wings in agreement, "I love adventures! Let’s investigate the shadow!" With that, they all peered over the edge of the boat, squinting against the fading sunlight.
As they got closer, the shadow grew bigger, and a giggle escaped from Ollie. "It looks like it has a funny shape!" he laughed. "Maybe it's a friendly sea creature!" Wally splashed in excitement, while the seagull flew up higher to get a better view. It was a game of peek-a-boo, and they couldn’t wait to see what surprise awaited them. The shadow danced playfully just out of sight, tempting them to follow. What was hiding in the ocean’s embrace?
